There are a variety of Temporary Visas available that allow you to come to New Zealand for an intended temporary stay. Specific conditions per type of application apply and, depending on the intended length of stay, medicals and police records may be required.
The type of temporary visas depend on the purpose of your intended temporary stay including the following:

- ESSENTIAL SKILLS WORK VISA
- WORKING HOLIDAY
VISITORS VISA
When you intend to stay temporarily in New Zealand, not study or work, you may need to apply for a Visitor’s visa.
When you are outside New Zealand you need to apply for a Visitor’s Visa with travel conditions allowing you to travel to New Zealand.
When you are granted a visa on arrival in New Zealand (a stamp in your passport) you may remain in New Zealand for up to nine months. You will need to meet some requirements such as funds, health and character.
When you are already in New Zealand and wish to stay longer, you may need to lodge a further visitor visa application while your current visa is still valid, this is normally 30 days before expiry.
STUDENT VISA
If you want to study in New Zealand, at primary, secondary or tertiary level, you may need a study visa.
We may be able to assist lodging a visa application in your home country or when you are in New Zealand.
The same is applicable for further visas, that is, when you want to continue or finish your chosen study, we can assist you to lodge an application for a further visa. Certain criteria need to be met.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS VISA
This is a work visa based purely on skills and on the requirements of the employer.
This application will be subject to a Labour Market Check (LMC) with Work and Income NZ (WINZ) to ensure that local New Zealanders are protected.
Specific conditions do apply.
WORKING HOLIDAY
Employers are able to employ young people from overseas who are interested in working temporarily while travelling around New Zealand.
Generally, you are 10 to 30 years old and you will receive an open work visa so you can work for any employer. Maximum 3 to 12 months depending from which country you come.
